Business expo attracts hundreds of
people

About 500 people checked out the goods and services offered by a wide cross section of
businesses at the third Fox Business Institute & Brazil-Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce
Business Expo on May 22 at Holliday Inn Lakewood Ranch.
The general keyword among the 55 exhibitors at the Expo was "networking,"
which was evidenced by the exchange of hundreds of business cards during the 2 1/2-hour
function.
"It's a great way of showing people what you have to offer as far as business
goes," said Doris Carvalho, who came along with her business friend from Brazil.
"I think our stand generated a lot of business," said Carvalho, a first-time
visitor who said she would definitely be back next time.
Real estate agent and BTCC President Bill Geller said the advantage of attending the
Expo was meeting new people.
"It's a great way to learn about new businesses looking for International ventures
we didn't know about last time," said Geller.
"It's been a great opportunity for us," Michaelis said of FMU's first
appearance at the Expo. "There are a lot of businesses here tonight, and we've been
able to get the word out there."
As the evening began to wind down, Chamber President Bill Geller declared the Expo a
"tremendous success."
He said it has improved each time since inception, and will remain a fixture on the
Chamber's business calendar in coming years.
