Chamber of Commerce Launches International Business Clinic in Brazil

Chamber of Commerce; and the City of Campinas are working together to assist small businesses and entrepreneurs to foster new business initiatives with the United States and abroad

Mar 31, 2011 – The city of Campinas and the Brazil-Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce are making a concerted effort to facilitate the success of small businesses, and it was with this in mind that the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Jefferson Michaelis met with a group of local entrepreneurs Thursday morning to launch the “International Business Clinic”.

Mr. Michaelis sat down with seven small business owners to discuss practical situations, challenges of contemporary entrepreneurship, identify ways in which the Chamber of Commerce can assist in the continued viability of their businesses and expansion of their businesses abroad.

"The Brazilian economy is booming, and small businesses are the engine of job growth," Michaelis said during the business clinic meeting.

The participants in today's practical business class meeting at IBE Business Education in Campinas City are a selected group of elite professionals who have participated in the program called: Team Brazil 2011 – Programa de Internacionalizacao de empresas de Campinas, said Mr. Rodrigo Hajjar, who works at the Secretariat of International Cooperation in the Mayor's Office.

The initiative aims to unlock the growth and job-creation potential of thousands of small businesses across the Campinas region through greater access to business education programs, mentors, networks and financial capital.

The meeting on Thursday morning focused on the following: Marketing strategies, brand recognition, local preference, niche markets, Enterprise programs, the small business strategies, and ways in which small businesses can compete internationally.
