| The seminar helped international professionals and
students to navigate their way through different careers choices in the United States.
Mrs. Janis Mckeena, director of career services for FMU, identified majors, careers
choices and some of the degrees available at the university. Mr. Jefferson Michaelis,
International Admissions representative, detailed the MBA courses online. In addition, he
was available to answer general questions about FMU. Mr. William Banks an immigration
attorney with Maney & Gordon, talked about regulations after Graduation, how to apply
for the Post-Graduate Employment Authorization, and Mr. Victor Garcia gave a free
membership and a presentation about ALPHA. The meeting also focused on what makes
higher education imperative in today's marketplace.All the speakers stressed on the fact
that FMU is doing a great job in assisting through this seminar the international work
force in need for quality education.
The attendees were very happy to see practical tips and examples coming their way, and
benefited from the vision of professionals who had done it for so many years!
The inquisitive attendees asked a lot of questions which the guest speakers team were
able to handle successfully, to the satisfaction of the group. The session ended with an
interactive OPEN HOUSE session, where a lot of queries were addressed.
